She is a compassionate, empathetic and skilled therapist who has been successfully helping clients explore and honor their feelings, while creating change and achieving a greater sense of their own worth. She has over 15 years of experience providing individual, couple and family counselling.

Susan draws from several treatment modalities including Client Centered, Cognitive Behavioral, Emotionally Focused and Solution Focused therapy. She works from an Anti-Oppressive and Strengths based approach. She feels honored to help clients shift from living with thoughts of sadness, worry, negative beliefs and difficult circumstances, to helping her clients be more present, exploring and working towards a happy life with healthy boundaries, prioritized self care and an increased sense of fulfillment.

Susan also works with couples who come to counselling for a variety of reasons. Often couples come into counselling after they experience a relationship injury, when trust has been broken or they feel disconnected. Susan works with couples to understand their patterns, and how to connect differently. Susan explores with partners how to express and hear each other’s needs, creating a deeper emotional connection.

Susan has worked for McMaster University providing counselling for students for the past 14 years, and has been working in her own practice for the past 9 years. She graduated from York University with an Undergraduate degree in Psychology and an Undergraduate degree in Social Work. She also graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2005 with her Masters of Social Work. She regularly attends ongoing professional development. Susan is a member in good standing of The Ontario Association of Professional Social Workers and the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. Jodi is a Registered Social Worker who received her Master Degree from Wilfred Laurier University and has been working in Private Practice ever since. This has allowed Jodi the flexibility to grow her business, pursue her dream of co-founding the OCC, while also devoting time to her growing family. Jodi has completed extensive training in couple therapy, specifically the Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) model. She has also completed additional training specific to treating couples who have experienced an affair or betrayal. Her passion is working with people towards healthy relationships while providing a safe, nurturing and professional atmosphere. Jodi also facilitates Hold Me Tight Couples Workshops.

Early on in Jodi’s career she developed a specialty in addiction after completing a Post-Graduate Certificate in Addiction Treatment & Prevention from Georgian College. After extensive training and years of working in a variety of Substance Use (SU) & MH settings, Jodi developed a sub-specialty focused on providing psycho-education and therapy to those struggling with their loved one’s SU. Jodi has assisted hundreds of individuals, couples and families in dealing with the often lonely and overwhelming personal impact of a loved ones SU, all while figuring out how to better support their loved one through handling crises, setting limits, effective communication and most importantly finding hope once again.

Most recently, after having her first child and finding herself surrounded by a community of new moms and parents, Jodi realized the importance and lack of support during this crucial time in a new family’s life. This launched her into countless hours of training through Postpartum Support International (PSI) in this area of Perinatal Mental Health with a focus on working with individuals and couples from pre-parenthood through to postpartum. Jodi offers a compassionate, non-judgemental and supportive space to process this often-monumental life transition in all of its concerns and difficulties, while increasing one’s capacity to enjoy this new and exciting time.

Jodi has also completed training in Brainspotting Therapy, a brain-body based treatment used to work through unprocessed trauma in the brain which is useful in working through all of her above specialties.

A Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, Karen can help you learn how to navigate life’s challenges in a healthy and balanced way. She appreciates that for many people it is uncomfortable talking about how they are experiencing life because they have learned to suppress their emotions in a culture that has taught that they should not be too emotional. Karen helps her clients understand that emotions are intended to simply guide us toward that which is pleasant and away from that which is unpleasant or dangerous.

Karen is an experienced emotional and trauma focused therapist who has a gentle and compassionate approach to understanding every client’s individual needs. One of Karen’s strengths is teaching clients how their nervous systems functions. By bringing awareness to what is going on inside, her clients learn how to remove judgement and shame as well as how to regulate their emotions and connect with others in a satisfying and supportive way. She helps them to appreciate how the effects of past experiences may trigger them, possibly resulting in emotional overwhelm or shut down.

Karen holds a Diploma in Spiritual Psychotherapy from Transformational Arts College and a Bachelor of Commerce from McMaster University. She continues to stay current in her field and has completed formal training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Internal Family Systems, Compassionate Inquiry, Interpersonal Neurobiology, Structural Dissociation, and Mindfulness. Karen integrates these different therapeutic modalities into her client focused therapeutic approach to ensure that each client has the tools, techniques and resources that will enable them to navigate their life challenges moving forward.

Many people work hard to improve their lives, but no matter what they do, they do not see the expected results. Most feel something is holding them back; they feel helpless and frustrated.

Whether it is a chronic illness, financial problems, weight issues, reoccurring negative thoughts, bad relationship patterns, low self-esteem, depression or anxiety, you are not alone. Many of us give up on our goals and dreams, and others keep pushing forward with minimal results.

These roadblocks you can’t seem to overcome could very well be the result of energy blockages. Energy blocks in whatever form are not easy to see, and maybe not something you understand. But perhaps you are open-minded enough to the idea that an energy block could be the culprit?

Energy work allows us to tap in and change old belief systems, remove blocks and resistance, and non-serving subconscious programs. Once removed, what was once hard, becomes easy. Now all parts of you are moving in the same positive direction, with no obstacles or conflict in your way.Brenda is a compassionate, responsible energy worker who puts her client’s comfort and wellbeing first. She has great respect for energy healing and energy psychology methods. Brenda has been practicing energy work for the past ten years. She continues to take courses to enhance her abilities; this allows her to offer different holistic methods to her clients.

Brenda is professional, warm and inviting; she is non-judgmental and sees each client as unique. She has worked for over 25 years in the Corporate Sector, bringing energy work to the office environment. She works with all age groups and demographics. She has an intuitive sense and natural ability to communicate and answer client’s questions or concerns and holds high regard for establishing an honest, working relationship before each session.
